 My Approach

Hulya Kusella BSc (Hons), PGc, CCT, Reg. MBACP (Accred)

(she/her)

Overview

Over the past 28 years I have invested in training in several schools of thought to understand how Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Cognitive, Mindfulness and Sensorimotor, Ecological and Systemic approaches can be of support to people struggling with various forms of emotional, psychological, physiological symptoms and social/cultural and environmental factors. I have found that each theory holds its own set of insights towards understanding the complexities of each person. Which led me to the realisation that segregating these views would be to deny an enriched interconnection whilst, integration (biopsychosocial) would allow me to understand your personal needs from a wider lens and incorporate a personalised theoretical approach within a relational context that is most fitting to you.

Much of our experiences involve relationships to which shapes the way we think and feel about ourselves, connect with others and see the world. Your therapy with me will be held in a private, confidential and compassionate space to enable us to detangle, reflect on, and work through areas that you feel needs attention or are causing you some level of discomfort or challenge in your life, within, a safe and non-judging environment and with someone, who understands the importance of well-being, healing, recovery and interpersonal relations.

The therapy offered is based on the belief that everyone’s journey and experiences through life are unique to them and therefore, assumes that each person will heal, thrive and engage when provided with choice, safety and a compassionate space to explore and connect. This also extends to how you wish to engage in therapy. I offer a range of communication contexts, such as: in-practice, nature based therapy, video, audio, instant messaging (IM) and email therapy to adapt to the environmental needs, study constraints, parental responsibilities or professional lifestyle of each person.
